“We were very surprised by the outcome of the Court of Auditors’ audit of the project, which has resulted in the Court’s refusal to register CIPESS Resolution 41/2025 relating to the Bridge,” said Stretto di Messina’s CEO, Pietro Ciucci. “The entire process has always been conducted in full compliance with general and specific Italian and European legislation relating to the bridge. We are waiting to know the reasons for this decision whilst maintaining our commitment to deliver the project, the mission assigned to us by the Government and the Ministry of Infrastructure in implementation of the legislation enacted by the Italian Parliament.”
