IN GENERAL, INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF WATER. WHERE WILL THE WATER NEEDED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE STRAIT OF MESSINA BRIDGE COME FROM?

The water supply for the Strait of Messina Bridge construction sites will not impact the water supply of Messina and Villa San Giovanni in any way. A dedicated water sustainability plan for the construction sites has been assessed. To ensure redundancy and accommodate the site’s evolving needs, the development of new well fields has been identified as the optimal solution. Notably, water supply capacity will exceed the construction site’s requirements, allowing surplus water to be fed back into the network during the execution of the works. This additional supply will be available for use by municipal authorities.
