The Project Management Consultant—selected through an international tender—is responsible for overseeing and verifying the final and detailed design, as well as the construction of the Strait of Messina Bridge and its road and rail connections. Additionally, it monitors and checks the activities of the Environmental Monitor. This role is fulfilled by Parsons Transportation Group, a US company and a global leader in the design and construction of suspension bridges. Stretto di Messina’s adoption of the project management model holds significant strategic value. Its primary objective is to ensure rigorous review and monitoring of all management processes and design techniques, guaranteeing adherence to the expected quality standards, timelines, and costs for the Bridge’s construction. This approach also enhances coordination among all parties involved in the project.
