Rome, 9 May 2024 – As part of the ongoing environmental impact assessment procedure, and in agreement with the General Contractor, Eurolink, Stretto di Messina has deemed it appropriate to ask the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE), in accordance with the current regulations (Legislative Decree 163/2006), for a 120-day extension of the deadline for submitting the requested supplementary documentation which, in compliance with the new deadline, will be delivered by mid-September 2024.
“This decision,” explains Stretto di Messina CEO, Pietro Ciucci, “is motivated by the exceptional importance of the project and reflects the Company’s willingness and utmost commitment to provide prompt and exhaustive replies to the requests for additions and clarifications on the technical drawings of the detailed design for the Strait of Messina Bridge, submitted by the Ministry’s EIA and SEA Committees.
