SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE
The design criteria adopted pay close attention to issues concerning environmental and social sustainability. Impact assessments are used to develop construction and mitigation solutions based on the most recent green engineering innovations. We are designing sustainable infrastructure that will benefit the local area, making it more accessible and integrated. We are working with stakeholders, authorities and local and central government to understand their needs and fully exploit the available synergies and opportunities for local development. We are adopting technical, structural and technological solutions that will also boost the resilience of the infrastructure being designed.

BIODIVERSITY
Aware of the complexity of the ecosystems in the areas involved, we consider biodiversity protection to be a priority aspect throughout the design and construction process. We are working hard to minimise the impacts and, where necessary, preserve environmental value, including through environmental restoration initiatives, improvements to habitats and efforts to reverse degradation.
ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
Monitoring of environmental components enables us to identify any changes and take timely action to address any problems during both construction and operation of the infrastructure.
Monitoring data will be shared with the various oversight bodies.

BENEFITS FOR THE LOCAL AREA

The strategic value of the project will lead to new opportunities for social and economic development in the areas involved, not only in terms of logistical potential, but above all with regard to social improvements and urban regeneration.
APPLICATION OF SUSTAINABILITY METHODS AND STANDARDS

We apply the methods and standards developed for sustainable infrastructure which, from design through to construction, have set sustainable environmental, social and economic development goals.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OF WORKSITES

Construction of the infrastructure will be a complex process, also involving a major commitment in terms of environmental sustainability. With a view to raising the bar still further, the Environmental Management System for our worksites, which complies with the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard, will enable us to organise worksites in such a way as to guarantee constant oversight of environmental aspects, in part by interfacing with the Monitoring Plan.
