Rome 30 August 2024 – Stretto di Messina wishes to respond to today’s statement by the “Instead of the bridge” (Invece del Ponte) committee.

The Company’s CEO, Pietro Ciucci, reiterated that Law Decree 89/2024, the so-called “Infrastructure” decree, converted into Law 120/2024, does not provide for subdivision of the project into lots.

“The contract is and will remain single, given the complex nature of the project. It can only be executed gradually and in phases, thereby reducing the time needed and costs,” said Mr Ciucci.

“Therefore, I repeat: there will be no splitting into lots. As planned, a single contractor will be responsible for the entire project from the outset, thereby optimising execution,” concluded Mr Ciucci.
