INFRASTRUCTURE DECREE: CEO CIUCCI: THERE’S NOW MORE CERTAINTY ABOUT TIMEFRAMES, COSTS AND TRANSPARENCY FOR THE BRIDGE, WITH A FOCUS ON PLAN FOR COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDERS

“An important vote was held today in Parliament about the Strait of Messina bridge,” commented Stretto di Messina CEO, Pietro Ciucci, with regard to the Infrastructure Decree (Legislative Decree 89 of 29 June 2024).

“The legislation helps to provide more certainty about timeframes, costs and the transparency of procedures, with a special focus on the plan for compulsory purchase orders. From the beginning of September, Stretto di Messina will continue its efforts to respond to the demands that emerged during the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure and the Services Conference.  The aim, as we have often pointed out, is to obtain approval of the final design and the Financial Plan from the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development (CIPESS)  by the end of the year, thereby moving on to the construction phase.
