IS IT TRUE THAT ALL SEAFARERS EMPLOYED IN THE FERRY SERVICE WILL LOSE THEIR JOBS?

In all countries where major alternative routes to ferry services have been established, the redeployment of maritime personnel has been effectively managed through appropriate planning, including retraining and the reallocation of resources throughout the construction period.
In the case of the Strait of Messina Bridge, personnel can be redeployed to work on maintenance and monitoring of the infrastructure. Additionally, there are numerous opportunities for the redeployment of ferry workers to alternative routes, such as those serving islands, or to routes benefiting from the tourist flows generated by the Bridge. It is also important to highlight the new economic initiatives arising from construction of the Bridge, which will create further opportunities for the redeployment of ferry personnel.
