The Cost-Benefit Analysis was updated in 2024 following European and national guidelines. The results demonstrated that construction of the Strait of Messina Bridge would significantly enhance collective welfare, delivering substantial net benefits to the national community while improving both economic and environmental aspects. Key indicators show that, with an estimated investment of €13.5 billion, the project has a Net Economic Present Value (NEPV) of €3.9 billion (discounted to 2023) and an Economic Internal Rate of Return (EIRR) of 4.51%.
