AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH ANSFISA REGARDING DESIGN MONITORING SYSTEMS
Memorandum of understanding signed between ANSFISA and Stretto di Messina regarding systems to monitor the safety of the project
Bologna, 8 November 2024 – This afternoon, the Director of ANSFISA, the National Agency for Rail and Road Infrastructure Safety, Domenico Capomolla, and the CEO of Stretto di Messina, Pietro Ciucci, signed a memorandum of understanding on the sidelines of a conference organised by ANSFISA in Bologna.
The memorandum of understanding is aimed at establishing an organic technical and scientific partnership between Stretto di Messina and the Agency, regarding the development of the detailed design of the bridge’s monitoring systems during the drafting of the detailed design.
The monitoring system for the bridge infrastructure is crucial for its proper operation throughout its lifetime, starting from the construction phase.
Among other things, ANSFISA’s mission is to promote safety and vigilance on rail, road and motorway infrastructure, and on fixed installations.
Via its regulatory and monitoring planning and development activities, which complement the operational control activities it carries out in the field, ANSFISA’s role is to motivate and support operators, who are obliged to
ensure the safety of the infrastructure they manage, through a
process of increasing accountability that is geared towards
constant risk minimisation.
