<\/i>During the bilateral summit between Italy and Japan, the Japanese Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, referred to the Strait of Messina Bridge as a symbol of economic cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>

\u201cI hope that the Strait of Messina Bridge project, which also involves Japanese companies, will come to be a major example of economic cooperation between our two countries. We hope that the bridge will be built as soon as possible, taking advantage of Japan\u2019s know-how and experience\u201d.<\/p>

\u201cThe words of the Japanese Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, during today\u2019s bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, are of great importance for the Strait of Messina Bridge project. We have been working with Japan and above all the IHI group, a global leader in the infrastructure sector and a partner in the Eurolink consortium led by Webuild, for many years. Cooperation has intensified recently in view of the upcoming start of work on the detailed design and construction. Together with the Minister of Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini, we recently met senior managers from IHI, who reiterated the group\u2019s firm commitment to the project, confirming its international value and importance\u201d.<\/p>
